Temperature Controllers

What is a Temperature Controller?
A temperature controller compares the actual temperature to the desired temperature, or setpoint, and provides an output to a control element.  It is a way of measuring, monitoring, and controlling ambient conditions.

Types of Temperature Controllers & How They Work
There are three types of controllers: (1) on-off, (2) proportional, and (3) PID.  Since here at Cooling Technology, Inc we offer only one style, this is the style that we will discuss.

The PID temperature controller combines proportional control with two additional adjustments, which helps the unit automatically compensate for changes in the system.  These adjustments, integral and derivative, must be individually adjusted to a particular system.  Some PID temperature controllers must be adjusted by trial and error; others auto – tune themselves.  PID temperature controllers are the most accurate and stable of the three controller types and a good choice in systems where temperature controllers must compensate for recurrent changes in setpoint, available energy, or the mass to be controlled.  (information provided by www.globalspec.com)

We also offer a temperature control unit with a single zone oil circulating high temperature control system with heating and cooling capabilities that is suitable for standard operation up to 400°F with optional capabilities available up to 550°F.

A Cooling Technology, Inc. representative will be happy to work with you to determine which will best fit your requirements.
